One down, one to go...
The news was first announced on Facebook by hot Rutledge Wood on his Facebook page on the evening of June 26. The show has completed 72 episodes over six seasons.
Rumors are already abound that the shows cancellation is due to rapidly declining ratings on the UK version of Top Gear which has been revamped following an altercation surrounding presenter Jeremy Clarkson. The shows new primary host Chris Evans has been near combative over social media defending the show, while rumors are also popping up that the other primary host Matt Leblanc is threatening to leave the show if Evans is not fired. While the BBC has not confirmed that ratings or any other rumor is the reason for the cancellation, on many levels it makes sense that the BBC would try to increase viewership of its floundering show in the UK by cancelling the less than stellar American spin-off.
Either way, this may be a sign of things to come for the UK version of Top Gear, and with The Grand Tour's premier on the horizon, it may be the beginning of the end.
