Top 5 Worst Car Trends of 2016

AutoMogul's Top 5 Worst Car Trends on 2016

1:Excessive Camber

Part of the "stance" scene, this trend revolves around putting as much camber on your car as possible to both slam the car to the ground and make it fit the now familiar profile. You can spot these cars not only by the excessively cambered wheels and sparks from their car as the scrape on every single bump, but by the massive windshield banners reminding you how slammed they are.

2:Bolt On Fender Flares

The bolt on fender flare. While it certainly has its place in race cars where bolt on fenders can be used to allow cover and increase aerodynamics over wider wheels, the epidemic of bolt on flares and wide boy kits in the tuner community has reached extreme levels. With every kit for every car looking just like the last, nowadays you stand out more by not riveting these pointless body kits to your car. Mark our words, this will be the ricer body kit of days future past.
This bring back some memories?

3:Dipping
Were not talking about dipping like the cowboys in movies or your favorite oil field worker, no we're talking peelable, plastic/ rubber based spray paint. Now known as "dipping" by the cool kids, it allows anyone with access to a Wal-Mart the ability to change the color of their car. With fun, ricey, colors, you can easily change that pesky ol' paintjob into a stance kids dream. Oh ya, stance kids love dipping.

4:Quick Release Bumper Kits
Another trend taken from the racing scene, quick release bumper kits became all the rage when the slammed enough, camber gang crews couldn't make it over the curb into their local fast food parking lots to hang out and vape (more on that later). Sorry, but if your car is so low you cant make it over general curbs and bumps around town without taking off your bumper, you are too low, probably a safety hazard, and, more than likely ruining your car. Now, if you see these at your local track day or autocross, an exception may be given, but you'll know a legit setup when you see it.

5:Vaping
Where to even start. While not technically a car mod, for some reason vaping has become associated with tuners(especially the Subaru crews, whether fairly or unfairly) and the car scene has become a hotbed of the vaping scene. What started as a smoking alternative has quickly evolved ( devolved?) into a d-bag trend where losers attempt to blow the biggest cloud, or discuss the flavors of their latest juice, when the batteries aren't exploding in their pants anyways.(see below, ouch!) Ho. Lets hope the car scene, or at least the best of the people in it can learn to shun the vape away lol

In all seriousness people, we all have one passion, so build what makes you happy, enjoy your car and others, and vape away ( ok maybe not the last one) and keep driving fun!
