15 Years of Fast & Furious
It's been 15 years since that scrawny, no crust loving, serial killer sounding, Brian O'Connor came fast and furiously into our lives along with the rest of the F&F crew. There are some movies which have an effect on an entire generation, and I think The Fast and The Furious is one of them. Yes it may be cheesy, it may be over the top, but myself, along with an entire group of people fell in love with it. The franchise may have evolved into an outrageous action movie series, but the first movie was something special. Something for car enthusiasts, and something that turned a lot of people into one. From the cameo appearances, the crazy, cars, and all that NOS ( amateurs don't use nitrous oxide!), the movie is full of memories and memorable one liners. Roll into any car meet, and I bet you could find a plethora of people who could still quote almost the entire movie, or tell you a story about the movie and how it influenced them. The Fast and The Furious changed the shape of the tuner scene, and maybe the direction it took for the next nearly two decades. With the recent loss of Paul Walker, and the sadness felt, almost like losing a close friend or loved one to many, due to the huge influence he had on the culture and the generation with his movies, it seems fitting for those who loved his movies, to take in the original film and his others this month. Here's to Paul Walker, here's to The Fast and The Furious, and here's to the friends and family who carry on the franchise and his memory for new fans and enthusiasts alike!
